Calling on Essex climbers to make every step count for charity

10 Oct Calling on Essex climbers to make every step count for charity

Fancy running up a skyscraper for a good cause?

This October, the NSPCC is urging people from Essex to take part in the NSPCC’s Gherkin Challenge, by scaling the 38 floors to the top of the London landmark and raising money in support of the charity’s vital work with some of Essex’s and the UK’s most vulnerable children.

Taking place on Sunday 22 October, hundreds of fellow participants or ‘Gherkineers’, will tackle the 38 floors of the building which stands three times higher than Niagara Falls.

This iconic building is not usually open to the public, and so The Gherkin Challenge provides an exclusive opportunity to enjoy stunning panoramic views and a glass of bubbly at the top.

The entry fee for The NSPCC Gherkin Challenge is just £25 per adult with a sponsorship target of £250 per person which could help answer fifty calls to Childline. Alternatively, if you don’t fancy taking the stairs there is the option to purchase a ‘Champagne Lift Pass’ for £50 or £80 for two.

Registration for the event is now open. For further information or to register for the Gherkin Challenge, visit www.nspcc.org.uk/what-you-can-do/events/the-gherkin-challenge/
