16 Aug British Soldier Georgie wins Miss Essex!
On Sunday 11th August at the grand Cliffs Pavilion in Southend-on-Sea, Georgina Goodey (25, Billericay) was crowned Miss Essex 2019/2020 out of 14 finalists and will represent Essex in the glittering 75th anniversary final of Miss Great Britain in February 2020.
Georgie, a soldier in the British Army and competitive powerlifter, wowed the judges in her disco wear, eveningwear and interview during the final of the sold-out Miss Essex show.
Georgie won the Best in Eveningwear award as well as the Miss Millennial award – given to the finalist that breaks the ‘Essex Stereotype’ the most.
The event was hosted by Drag artist Amanda Bang with special performances from future stars New Faith where they performed their new single ‘Mine’.

All of the finalists had been working hard to raise funds of Miss Essex’s chosen charity White Ribbon UK, in memory of Grace Millane. The finalists raised a total of £2,240.
