The awards were given in recognition of their work during the summer at the Brentwood Centre’s Fit and Fed summer programme.

The Coach Core apprenticeship scheme gives young people aged 16-24 the chance to become the next generation of inspirational coaches. Coach Core is a programme run by the Royal Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry.

In July 2012 the Royal Foundation launched Coach Core; A new, innovative and exciting sports coaching apprenticeship targetting young people who wish to gain further education and employment in sport. The Royal Foundation is working in partnership with Active Essex, the county sports partnership for Essex, who manage the “Team Essex” Coach Core programme.
