02 May BRAINTREE YOUTH CHARITY BOOSTED BY SKIPTON’S £1,000 DONATION
A Braintree charity which offers opportunities for young people whatever their situation or background has been given a cash boost.
Skipton Building Society’s Charitable Foundation has donated £1,000 to the Braintree Youth Project Charity, which works with young people aged 11-18 years. At its drop in centre on the edge of Braintree town centre, the charity provides somewhere safe for young people to congregate and offer opportunities for them to have fun and receive support when they need it.
The money donated by the Charitable Foundation will go towards furnishing a new coffee shop, providing catering to those benefiting from the charity, and also work experience and training in food hygiene and health and safety.
Alison Davies, Skipton Charitable Foundation Trustee and Head of Digital at Skipton Building Society, said: “We’re delighted to support the Braintree Youth Project Charity and help furnish their new coffee shop. At Skipton, we want a society where no one feels left out and we hope our donation will help the charity’s work in offering opportunities to young people who might otherwise find it difficult.”
