18 Jan Bowers and Pitsea F.C to host celebrity match to support local charity

By Matthew Martino

Tickets Have Gone On Sale For The 2nd Annual Essex Celebrity Football Match that will raise money for a local charity St Luke’s Hospice.

Scores of celebrities are set to grace the pitch in the event being organised by United For Charity in partnership with MarkMeets.

Freelance media journalist and promoter Mark Boardman told us:

“With our involvement in entertainment and the media we have already signed up several celebs to take-part in the charity football match but we are still on the look-out for more celebrity players to help attract large crowd numbers”.

“St Luke’s hospice is a huge part of the community does incredible work in supporting children and parents and I am delighted to have been welcomed into the family to support such a great cause in Essex”.

The event already proving a hit in its second year has played a key role in bringing the community together with Kerry Chambers, telling us “Without the support of people like Chris we wouldn’t be able to continue providing the care to our community.”

“We hope our community will once again get behind Chris and support him and the hospice at this event.”

St Luke’s is a huge part of the community offering care and support to those terminally ill and also an aftercare service for the families involved. It costs millions of pound to run a hospice each year and without help from the community they simply wouldn’t be able to run their great service started.
