27 Jan Bellway London helps grant a wish for Essex children’s charity
Bellway London has made a £500 donation to Romford-based charity Wipe Away Those Tears to support children with serious or terminal illnesses.
The homebuilder, which is building new homes at Roe Wood Park in Romford, made the donation as part of its outreach with the local community.
Wipe Away Those Tears was set up in 2006, with the aim of raising money from a summer ball each year. Every penny that is raised for the charity goes towards helping local children most in need, by funding treatment, equipment or trips to create special memories with their families.
Jason O’Shea, Founding Trustee of Wipe Away Those Tears, said: “We are truly grateful to Bellway London for its extremely generous donation of £500. This will enable us to grant a special wish for a child living in Essex with a life-limiting or life-threatening illness.”
Bellway London is building 120 new homes on the former Quarles Campus of Havering College, off Tring Gardens in Harold Hill.
Carolyn Webb, Sales Manager for Bellway London, said: “The communities surrounding us are at the heart of what we do, so we are only too happy to provide a donation to Wipe Away Those Tears.
“The comfort and support this charity brings to families in Essex is invaluable. As well as helping to provide medical care or equipment, Wipe Away Those Tears also funds special trips for children and their families so they can spend quality time together.
“We are pleased that our donation will help make a difference for a child and their family at a time when they most need it.”
