Basildon’s Together for Safer Communities meeting returns next week

13 Feb Basildon’s Together for Safer Communities meeting returns next week

Residents wanting to find out more about crime prevention and pick up free crime prevention materials are being reminded of the Together for Safer Communities meeting at Laindon West Community Centre on Monday 18 February between 7pm and 9pm.

The meetings aim to give residents the chance to discuss community safety issues and concerns. There is also an opportunity to pick up free crime prevention materials including property and bike marking kits, window alarms, signal blockers for key fobs, vehicle crime packs, number plate screws, personal alarms, contactless card defenders, purse dipping bells and ‘No Cold Calling’ stickers.

Councillor Andrew Barnes, Chairman of the Communities Committee, said: “We are committed to making the borough a safer place by working with our partners to reduce crime, disorder and anti-social behaviour. It’s important that we take the time to understand the community safety issues which matter most to our residents, and equip them with the tools to protect themselves and their property.

“I hope those who have already attended our Together for Safer Communities meetings have found them informative and helpful and I look forward to hearing from more residents next week.”
