Basildon event to get free tenant and lettings advice

05 Jun Basildon event to get free tenant and lettings advice

Landlords are invited to a free event which will provide information on tenancy management and lettings. The event, being run by Basildon Council in partnership with the National Landlords Association (NLA), is being held on Wednesday 26 June at the Holiday Inn, at Festival Leisure Park, Basildon from 5pm until 8pm.

It will include refreshments and talks about Environmental Health, the Tenant Fees Act 2019, Homes (Fitness for Human Habitation) Act 2018, Basildon Council’s Private Rented Sector Team and the National Landlords Association.

There will be an opportunity to ask questions to the presenters as well as stalls with information including landlord insurance, legal advice, housing benefit and many more. Landlords will also receive information on the council’s Property Solutions and Rent Start schemes.

Cllr Andrew Gordon, Basildon Council’s Vice Chairman of the Housing and Communities Committee, said: “Basildon Council is committed to improving the lives of residents who are living in private rented accommodation. Part of this commitment involves ensuring we are working collaboratively with landlords across the borough to not only drive up the standards of private rented accommodation, but to ensure landlords are supported when managing the complexities of the private sector rental market.

Landlords attending the event will benefit from learning more about The Property Solutions and Rent Start initiatives which have successfully helped landlords improve tenancy sustainment and reduce tenancy voids. I would encourage any current or potential landlords to come to the event to learn about the many benefits these initiatives have to offer.” Contact the Private Rented Sector Team on 01268 206902 or email [email protected]
