09 Apr Basildon Council are on the hunt for an apprentice
Are you interested in earning a salary whilst gaining industry level qualifications and valuable workplace skills?
If so, an apprenticeship at Basildon Council could be right for you. This year’s scheme is open to applications from today (Monday 9 April) until Monday 30 April.
An apprenticeship gives those with little or no work experience the opportunity to work for an employer and achieve an NVQ Level 2 or 3 qualification. The Basildon Borough Council Apprenticeship Scheme (BBCA) operates according to the standards laid down by the National Apprenticeship Scheme, with a comprehensive training programme.
Claire Owen, Principal Learning and Organisational Development Consultant at Basildon Council, said: “We are committed to creating equal opportunities for all, and that includes supporting young people in gaining real experience and employment.
“Basildon Council was recognised as a Top 100 UK employer for school leavers in 2017 which shows just how highly apprentices value our scheme. They work in real roles with real responsibility and are valued members of the team here at Basildon Council, with many apprentices going on to secure permanent roles.”
On successful completion of a one year apprenticeship and having achieved an NVQ Level 2 qualification, apprentices undergo a 12 month review with their manager and are given the opportunity to apply for a second year apprenticeship to study for an NVQ Level 3 qualification. After completing their second year, apprentices have the chance to apply for a higher apprenticeship in leadership and management.
