02 Nov Basildon Council continues flytipping crackdown with 46 fixed penalty notices
Basildon Council has issued 46 fixed penalty notices (FPNs) for domestic flytipping since the beginning of April this year.
The council’s commitment to tackling incidents of flytipping and dumped rubbish was given a boost in September when additional Street Scene Enforcement and Education Officers got to work across the borough.
The number of officers were increased from three to five in an attempt to educate residents and improve the cleanliness of communities.
The council has also invested £10,000 into a CCTV trial at locations where the largest and most frequent fly-tips take place.
