Basildon based RSE Group celebrations National Apprenticeship Week 2019

28 Feb Basildon based RSE Group celebrations National Apprenticeship Week 2019

Basildon based RSE Group is continuing to build on its reputation as a leader in the industry throughout National Apprenticeship Week (4 March – 8 March) by celebrating the successes of its apprentices.

Led by Founder and MD, Russell Stilwell, RSE Group is committed to providing opportunities to the next generation of talent through a number of initiatives, including its apprenticeship scheme. To date, the company has hired 13 local apprentices who have successfully completed the scheme before beginning a career within the construction industry. 11 of these apprentices have continued to be part of the RSE Group team, stepping into various roles across the business. There are eight apprentices at the RSE Group who are currently undertaking the qualification with the company.

The past 12 months were particularly successful for the RSE Group, with two of the company’s apprentices, Harry Gross and Will Stroud, becoming finalists in the 2018 Electrical Industry Awards, Apprentice of the Year category. Will went on to be announced as the overall winner of the award, bringing the coveted trophy home to the RSE Group.

Speaking about the award Will said: “I was over the moon to win the Apprentice of the Year award. The fact that both Harry and myself got to the final is testament to RSE’s dedication to its apprentices. I am so proud to be part of this forward thinking company, and since joining RSE I have been given numerous opportunities to grow my knowledge, gain skills and develop my future career.”

He continues: “I would highly recommend an apprenticeship to any young person who is looking to build a career. Learning in a practical, hands-on way has enabled me to grow as an individual and provided me with a career in which I can continue to progress.”

Harry adds: “One of the most rewarding aspects of an apprenticeship is being able to see how far you have come as well as where your career could go. I hope to have a long career with RSE and grow with the company as we continue to take on interesting and challenging projects.”

Apprenticeships within the construction industry provide the chance to build a solid career, learn important skills and gain valuable experience whilst earning a wage. The construction industry offers countless career pathways for young people, however the sector is not always seen as an obvious choice for a progressive working life.
