03 Oct #Baintree: Officers executing a drugs warrant found cannabis plants in a property

Officers executing a drugs warrant in Braintree have found cannabis plants in a property.

Officers from Braintree and Uttlesford Community Policing Team and our Operational Support Group executed a warrant at a residential property in Peel Crescent, Braintree on September 29.

Acting on information from the public, officers obtained a warrant from the courts to search the premises and found a cultivation set up to grow cannabis plants inside the address.

Eight cannabis plants were seized to be destroyed along with any paraphernalia used to grow the drugs.

A 26-year-old man from Braintree was arrested on suspicious of cultivation of cannabis and was taken to Chelmsford custody.

Pc James Draper from Braintree and Uttlesford Community Policing said: “This follows a number of successful warrants in the area to disrupt drug dealing and associated crime.
“We will not tolerate those who supply and produce drugs and we will continue to disrupt others involved in drugs.”

Anyone with concerns about drug dealing or suspected cannabis cultivations is asked to contact  police on 101. Alternatively, they can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 or www.crimestoppers-uk.org
