21 Oct Air Ambulance’s latest shop opens in Southend
The newest Essex & Herts Air Ambulance (EHAAT) shop in Eastwood, Southend-on-Sea was officially opened on Friday 18th October by Mr David Hurst, Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Essex.
Mr Hurst was accompanied by Jane Gurney, EHAAT’s CEO. Other invited guests included Rebecca Harris MP, David Amess MP, and Lynda Costerd, who was attended by EHAAT’s critical care team following an accident in 2017.
Donna Lee, EHAAT’s Head of Retail said: “We are really excited to be opening this new shop in Eastwood. Our shops play a vital part in raising the £750,000 the charity needs each month to remain operational and saving lives.
“Like our other shops, this will be somewhere where people can come in and find out more about our work and learn about the many ways they can support us, such as fundraising or volunteering.
“The response we’ve had from people donating goods or coming into the shop has been really positive and we are looking forward to welcoming local people through the doors.”
Local councillors and representatives of a number of community organisations attended the event, along with staff and volunteers from the Charity.
The shop, at 412 Rayleigh Road, Eastwood, Southend-on-Sea, SS9 5PT, open 9am to 4.30pm Monday to Saturday, will take the total number of EHAAT shops across Essex and Hertfordshire to ten.
