AFFORDABLE ART FAIR REVEALS PROGRAMME CELEBRATING 10 YEARS ON HAMPSTEAD HEATH

14 Apr AFFORDABLE ART FAIR REVEALS PROGRAMME CELEBRATING 10 YEARS ON HAMPSTEAD HEATH

Just under a month to go until Affordable Art Fair Hampstead celebrates 10 years of inviting visitors to discover the joy of collecting art on North London’s stunning Hampstead Heath, 5 – 8 May! The Fair reveals a programme of exclusive and limited-edition works, first time exhibitors, curated collections, exciting partnerships, and plans to celebrate the North London area with stunning displays, local artists, and artworks capturing the iconic landscape.

NEW FOR HAMPSTEAD AT 10

Limited edition NFTs featuring stunning campaign artwork

If you’ve been enticed by the star of Hampstead’s poster campaign – an evocative abstract work by Norwegian artist Marit Geraldine Bostad called Words 3 – you can get your hands on a limited series of 10 NFTs of the work, created especially for Hampstead’s 10th edition. Head to Mint Art Gallery’s stand for more information and to purchase.

New work and never-before-seen exclusives

There’s a host of fresh new work to discover at the fair, alongside rare and limited-edition pieces. Greenstage Gallery will showcase sought-after works from British abstract painter Martyn Jones for the first time, along with new artist Sara Hayward, whose ‘Elle 1:1 000 000’ series explores depictions of women around the world, often taken from newspaper cuttings to explore how real life can be distorted by media interpretation.

Fair favourites Clifton Fine Art present a series of new hyper-detailed urban landscape paintings by Tom White, whilst Sol Art Gallery from Dublin present new collections by Portuguese artist Luis Bivar and Mexican artist José Cacho.

Rock n’ Roll heritage gallery The Art Hound is a must-see for music fans, with never-before-seen photographic portraits by Scarlet Page, the internationally renowned photographer and daughter of Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin), whose unique photographs of music legends will be a treat for music fans and art lovers alike, including her limited-edition print of Camden icon Amy Winehouse.

Galleries making their Affordable Art Fair debut

Affordable Art Fair is excited to host 11 new galleries exhibiting for the very first time at the Fair, including Prince Art Gallery from Italy, Morningside Gallery from Edinburgh, and Air Contemporary; a new venture from Maria Morrow, the former Director of London’s Portland Gallery, whose roster boasts David Shrigley, Peter Clark and Babak Ganjei amongst others.

Prince Art Gallery will showcase the best in contemporary Italian art with a range of different styles. Expect artists such as Giancarlo Ciccozzi, Gianni Grattacaso and Raffaella Bellani – frequently shown in the international art fair circuit.

STUNNING & VARIED PHOTOGRAPHY

Photography aficionados and aspiring collectors can find the perfect piece at the Fair, with a broad range of fascinating works from Atelier Editions, Bleach Box, Capital Culture Gallery, The Drugstore, Reisz Gallery and more. Highlights:

§ Atelier Editions – born out of lockdown, a collaborative of five career photographers with varying styles got together to publish images from their hard drives curated over the years. Expect folios of very limited-edition print work, spanning everything from portraiture to cityscapes and documentary photography.

§ Reisz Gallery – showing works from two London-based photographic artists, Benjamin Rice’s large vertical landscapes are made up of up to 300 separate images combined seamlessly to create an illusion of realism, like gazing out of a window. Keith Parry’s minimal work depicts marginal, hinterland spaces, often full of absence, exploring quiet insignificant moments and the haphazard hand of the human footprint.
