22 Aug ACL Basildon is hosting an open event for prospective learners
Adult education provider, ACL Essex, will be showcasing their range of courses at an open event at ACL Lifelong Learning Centre, Churchill Avenue on Monday 5 September. The open event, which is free to attend, will provide Basildon residents the chance to explore the centre, meet ACL teams, participate in activities, and sign up to free learning opportunities.
ACL will be highlighting available courses, including GCSE and Access to Higher Education qualifications, mental health and wellbeing courses, and digital courses for all abilities. The adult education provider will also demonstrate its range of language programmes, such as English for Speakers of Other Language (ESOL), as well as a variety of creative courses, including cooking, jewellery making and pottery.
Tutors will be available to answer questions, and staff will also be on-hand to discuss the latest apprenticeship opportunities, which are ideal for school leavers as well as those looking to switch career pathway.
Christian Norman, ACL Essex Vice Principal Curriculum & Learning, says: “At ACL Essex we are committed to helping people develop the necessary skills to get a job in their ideal career pathway. It’s never too late to gain a qualification or take up a new hobby, and we’re excited to welcome adults of all ages and abilities to come and see what we’re about.”
He continues: “With children going back to school, September is the perfect time to enrol on an ACL course. Our learners thrive because they feel supported by our dedicated tutors to gain the qualifications they’ve always wanted; start-up a new hobby they’ve always wanted to try; or meet like-minded people and make new friends. All of this can be achieved with us and the first step is to come along to our open events!”
The open event will be held at ACL Lifelong Learning Centre, Churchill Avenue, Broadmayne, Basildon, SS14 3SG, on Monday 5 September from 10am to 2pm and 4pm and 8pm.
