29 Jan A candid sit-down with EssexPower100 inductee Amy Christophers
It’s been a while since we caught up with our favourite sports presenter Amy Christophers. So we thought we would steal her away from her busy schedule to see what she’s been up to since being named in the Essex Power 100 and what 2018 has in store for her.
2017 was a great year for Miss Christophers, graduating with flying colours in journalism – she explains ‘last year was a strange one as I was getting all these job offers but I had to finish my studies, it was such an honour though for my efforts in sports to be recognised in the Essex Power 100; I was so shocked when someone tweeted me the list and said I was in it!! I even came in higher than David Gandy…I couldn’t believe it!’
She expressed how pleased she is to have finished her studies, and can now direct focus back to what she loves, the presenting and the writing side of things.
Before starting her studies Amy Co-presented and even had her own football show on sky – sports channel ‘sports Tonight Live’ where she was also the main anchor of the sports news round up.
She tells us ‘Studying just took up all of my time and when I wasn’t studying I was watching all the games, so I had hardly any time to myself, I didn’t have time to really take care of myself and my body clock and healthy eating went to pot – I didn’t even have time to shoot a calendar for 2018. But this year I promise I will get round to shooting one for next year [giggles].’
We have a sneaky suspicion the football loving babe is going to be very busy this year, she has already been snapped up by “Off The Bar and In TV”, a football show where grime artist Trigz and friends tour the UK’s football stadiums and freestyle rap about the team – they signed Amy just before Christmas to be their new lead presenter and to head up interviews of players, they started filming the new series on Saturday where they attended EFL League one side Southend United.
Last week Amy made 2 big announcements on her insta and Twitter accounts (@thatsportsspice). The first one was that she has joined the Team at Game Magazine, a football magazine for pro footballers as their new columnist – we can expect to read her first column in the March/April issue.
The second announcement will only get you excited if you’re a Chelsea fan I’m afraid as Christophers has just signed with Fan social site “Breathe Chelsea” as their new female presenter, Blues Fan Amy took over their social media at the disappointing loss at the Emirates last Wednesday evening, which saw CFC knocked out of the Caraboa Cup by Arsene’s Arsenal.
Amy hinted she is about to sign a major deal with a big brand but her lips are sealed for a few more weeks whilst all the finer details get ironed out, but it’s a big company most people into sport will have heard of she excitedly claimed and that the job will be presenting – so watch this space!!
Amy Christophers with her connections in sports, her extensive knowledge and her over all sex appeal will certainly be the one to watch in 2018, we have no doubts.
