20 Jun £6,060 goes to Basildon Hospice from local business celebrating 60 years old
SEIB Insurance Brokers have this week donated £6,060 to St Luke’s Hospice in Basildon as part of their diamond anniversary celebrations. SEIB has a history of donating to St Luke’s and has named the hospice their Charity of the Year for 2023. SEIB is set to support to further fundraising events run by St Luke’s in the months to come.
St Luke’s is a charity close to the heart for the team at SEIB having given end of life support to one of the company’s employees as well as care and support to a number of friends and family members of SEIB staff.
SEIB’s Chief Executive Officer Suzy Middleton said: “Celebrating turning 60 is a major milestone for SEIB. Being a part of the local community within which we work is so important to our team and it is fitting for us to support St Luke’s. SEIB has deep roots in South Ockendon – our office has not moved from North Road in 60 years! Giving back has always been a key theme for the business and we are delighted to be in a position to make even a small difference to local lives.”
St. Luke’s Hospice is a charity providing compassionate palliative and end of life care to people whose illnesses are no longer curable. We deliver care to ensure dignity and empower people to make the choices they want; from the moment they are diagnosed.
Jackie Ross Corporate Fundraising Manager at St Luke’s said: “On behalf of everyone at St. Luke’s Hospice I am sincerely grateful to the team at SEIB for their continued, and valued, support. This wonderful donation of £6,060, in their 60th anniversary year, will help to continue our services providing specialist palliative and end of life care. The team at SEIB are also supporting the delivery of other fundraising projects this year and we look forward to sharing news of these soon”.
Donations made by SEIB to St Luke’s over the past few years total over £15,000. SEIB’s Chief Operating Officer, Bipin Thaker explained: “Helping others is what SEIB is all about. In previous years when we have been part of Ecclesiastical’s “Closer to You” campaign, our staff have voted for a local cause to donate money to. St Luke’s has always been the good cause of choice so it is very fitting that in SEIB’s 60th year we are continuing this support.”
It is not just local causes that SEIB supports. In 2018, the SEIB Giving Awards ran for the first time. This event has since been run annually by SEIB and good causes have now benefited to the tune of £250,000 from SEIB Giving. These awards will see a further £60,600 go to good causes from across Britain at the sixth running of the SEIB Awards to be held next month.”
From providing opportunity within grass roots competition right through to the company’s contributions to good causes, SEIB’s ethos of constant support and providing opportunity is well set to continue.
