The Formation of 4 Minutes Later is an unusual story, possible only in todays modern world as it doesn’t start in a hometown or country but rather on the internet.

It all started with a tweet in early 2018, “music coming soon”. They decided to release music just as that music… with no image or visuals to back it up. Before long #whois4ml was a top trending topic in the UK USA and Mexico.

The bands name means just that… everything can change in the blink of an eye or in this case 4 Minutes later. With thousands around the world trying to guess who they could be or how many of them there are or where they are from, 4ML decided to embrace this mystery and prove that music can still be just about the music.

Connecting with their fans on a whole new level the self named “Laters” have become a very important part of the band, and are more like a big family. The hopes of 4ML is to spread a positive message and give a level ground that we can all connect on… MUSIC the worlds most universal form of communication.

They have just released a new dope EP which features their new new single ‘My Way’. They are set to take the world by storm in 2019.

You can listen to the EP here –

We had an interview 4 minutes later:

Thanks for coming through Guys. First things first, how would you describe your sound?

No problem! Thanks for having us! Our sound so far is more pop driven with some 80s synth sounds. We like to have larger than life guitar and drums. We also don’t like to repeat ourselves or feel boxed into one genre or style so our next body of work could be totally different.

And of course you have a new project ’4 Minutes Later EP’ . Tell us about that and the process involved in creating it?

It was a new process for us as most of the writing and pre production was done via skype. We are incredibly lucky to have an amazing team of writers and producers that we like to think of as part of 4ml. They are so talented in what they do and can help us bring our vision to life. It took about a year to write the EP and that was kind of refreshing as it captured different times of victory and struggle in our lives. It also allowed us to be satisfied with the final product and not feel rushed.

What are some of the themes and concepts you included on this project?

The overall theme is a battle it deals with inner personal struggles as well as relationships and then you have “My Way” which is more of a fighter’s victory song. It’s a song that could really tie in well with a sports team or maybe even the way Greta Thunberg is tackling climate change. The concept or theme we were most proud of on the EP had to have been “Troubled” as it deals with the very important topic of mental health. It was written from a very open and vulnerable place and that kept the song very honest and relatable. We hope people were able to connect to it and get our message that you are never alone!

The song has since garnered quite a good reception on .What has the reception to ’4 Minutes Later EP’ been like on your end?

We are very thankful people enjoy it! Although we make the music for ourselves first, it is always a nervous feeling releasing a body of work. You are almost giving it away and you know people will judge it. So far people are liking it and that is almost very reassuring and comforting knowing we made something people can connect with and enjoy with us is the best feeling!

Any particular bands or artists you took inspiration from?
We all have different influences that we bring to the table and all for different reasons. Some for their lyrics and production, some for their performance and theatrics etc.

If we had to pick one current person we take a lot from and would love to work with it would have to be Ryan Tedder. He is a master at what he does and if you aren’t sure what he does google his credits and you will be amazed!

What are your hopes for the new EP ’4 Minutes Later EP’ ?
We hope people enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed making it, and that as many people get to hear it as possible. It would be nice to tour the EP and use it as a launch pad into the next phase of our career.

What can you tell us about your plans for the rest of 2019?

2019 has been a year to lay the foundation for 4ML. The rest of 2019 will be going towards building a massive 2020. We like to keep things pretty close to our chest until things are confirmed but we plan to hit the studio before the end of the year, to give more music to our fans!

What message do you have for your fans out there?..
TLC was right, don’t go chasing waterfalls…. Also we love you, and thank you! Laters we couldn’t do this without you and your support is amazing!
