03 Dec 2021 Fun Walk Raises Over £90,000 for Charities
With sponsorship money totalled and the audit process finished, The Fun Walk Trust is delighted to announce that over £90,000 has been raised by this year’s walk.
The Fun Walk is an annual fundraising event organised by BBW CVS on behalf of The Fun Walk Trust. This year’s event allowed participants to walk their 5k anywhere and anytime during September, and people of all ages took part to support their chosen charities and community groups. The funds will be used for a wide variety of causes including supporting mental health, disability, environmental, educational, community and advocacy groups.
John Baron MP, Chair of The Fun Walk Trustees, said
“Each year we celebrate the willingness of the Essex community to get involved and raise money for local good causes. We thank the local businesses who help motivate participants by contributing to the Bonus Pot, which is then added to the amount raised by the charities and good causes.”
“This year’s business sponsors include Brown & Carroll, Swan Housing Association, Tunnelcraft, Anisha Grange Care Home, Butyl Products Group, Leonardo MW, IFE Global Logistics, McDonald’s Restaurants Basildon and others. I also thank BBW CVS, the Fun Walk team and our Accountants Hunt Smee. It’s been a great team effort.”
