18 May 11,000 Essex Children Become Super Splash Heroes
1,000 primary school children across Essex have learnt how they can save water every day, thanks to an educational performance and workshop organised by Essex & Suffolk Water.
Super Splash Heroes is a water efficiency education programme developed in partnership with theatre in education experts Gibber. It teaches children how precious water is, and the simple things they can do to help save it, like turning off the tap when they are brushing their teeth.
So far this year the Super Splash Heroes have visited 52 schools across Essex, delivering 61 performances, reaching 11,000 children.
The visits included schools in Barking, where Essex & Suffolk Water has taken its ‘Every Drop Counts’ campaign for 2018. Every Drop Counts is the company’s largest water saving campaign, and gives Barking residents the chance to sign up for a free water saving home visit from a qualified plumber. Those who sign up will also receive £100 of completely free water saving products for the home and garden. For more information visit www.eswater.co.uk/everydropcounts.
The Super Splash Heroes will be visiting Suffolk later this year, and will be back in Essex in 2019. Any schools interested in a visit from the Super Splash Heroes can contact [email protected].
