Ahead of its eagerly anticipated opening next month, Lovett Care has appointed the senior management team for its new Chelmsford Manor care home on Galleywood Road.
With more than 40 years’ combined expertise in the care sector, Hertfordshire-based Leon Nyariri joins as home manager supported by deputy manager Chelmsford local Vilma Duncil.
Together they are well placed to take responsibility for the smooth running and overall performance of the 60-bed care home covering all aspects of day-to-day operations including the quality of care delivered to each individual resident, achieving compliance standards and leading and supporting the home’s 80-strong team.
The duo will also work hard to ensure a positive and compassionate culture, working with residents, families, colleagues and external partners to ensure the new home provides person‑centred care in a warm, welcoming and safe environment.
Leon and Vilma have enjoyed exceptional careers in care. Prior to joining Lovett, Leon spent 13 years in management for another regional care home operator. Vilma started her career as a care assistant before completing her nursing degree and progressing to registered nurse, clinical lead and most recently deputy manager.
Both were attracted to Lovett’s ethos and values and are keen to create a home that makes a difference to those most vulnerable in the local area. Leon commented: “We are delighted to be working together from the outset at Chelmsford Manor and aim to develop a thriving home that Lovett and the local community are proud of.”
Vilma added: “I was attracted to Lovett Care’s reputation and its commitment to people and an innovative use of technology to create calm, welcoming and homely spaces for residents. I’m looking forward to working with Leon to really make the home a key part of the Chelmsford community.”
Managing director at Lovett Care, Cath Fairhurst, said: “As excitement builds for the opening, Leon and Vilma are already in place, working hard to create the best environment for success and ensure everything is ready when we come to welcome our first residents. I am confident they will create a warm and wonderful home where everyone feels valued.”
Leon is 44 years old, has three children and lives with his partner in Hertfordshire. Vilma is 55 years old, lives in Chelmsford and is married with two daughters. When not working she enjoys spending time with friends and family, watching suspense movies, listening to 80s music and travelling.
