Easter season is coming to Lee Valley Regional Park, along with a great selection of activities to keep families engaged this school break. Whether it’s feeding the new-borns at Lee Valley Park Farms, competing in the FootGolf Open at Lee Valley Golf Course or learning the art of fire making at Lee Valley Almost Wild Campsite, there will be something for all to enjoy this Easter!

Brave the Rapids at Lee Valley White Water Centre
Kick start the Easter break in exhilarating fashion with a white water rafting adventure at Lee Valley White Water Centre. Here friends and family can create unforgettable memories together as they brave the dips and eddies of the same course made famous during the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Afterwards, guests can dry off and sit back and relax at The Terrace Bar & Café whilst watching the rest of the action on the rapids.
What’s more, if booked during March, visitors can save over £100 on a raft charter with the March Mayhem offer.

Learn to Ride BMX at Lee Valley VeloPark
This school holiday session will have young riders bumping berms and bunny hopping around the BMX track at Lee Valley VeloPark.
Perfect for beginners, the Core Start sessions are designed to enable riders aged seven and over to master the fundamentals of BMX – from perfecting the ready position to navigating drops, dips and corners – in order to gain confidence on the track.
Once completed, confident riders can choose to progress on to a BMX Taster Session or hone their technique by completing the Lee Valley VeloPark Skills Series.

#ClubVPK Road and Track Attack
Help the kid’s burn off the Easter chocolate with this day of world class cycling at Lee Valley VeloPark. This one day course allows teenagers aged between 12 – 16 years old to follow in the footsteps of Laura Kenny and Chris Hoy by riding the Velodrome track.
During the session, fully qualified coaches will teach them the skills and techniques required to ride a fixed wheel bike confidently as they progress their way up the 42 degree bank. Afterwards, riders will master Lee Valley VeloPark’s one mile road circuit to help perfect their road cycling skills.

Good Friday Racing at Lee Valley VeloPark
What better way to start the Easter weekend then with a fantastic spectacle of track cycling at Lee Valley VeloPark.
Good Friday Racing is a brand new event run in partnership with Full Gas Cycling Ltd and Lee Valley VeloPark which will feature an exciting day of track cycling competition alongside an array of family fun activities.
The race programme will cover 7 hours and will include; two separate Open Mixed Sprint competitions, two Mens’ Endurance competitions and an omnium-style Womens’ Competition.

Easter Baby Boom at Lee Valley Park Farms
The annual baby boom will be in full swing at Lee Valley Park Farms this Easter break.
During this time children will be able to hand feed bottled milk to the new baby animals, learn more about the new arrivals, as well as getting up close to many of the smaller inhabitants of the farm.
The farm also has plenty of other activities, with indoor and outdoor play areas, a toboggan run, plus a chance to take a ride on Tex the Tractor to a working dairy farm. Visitors can round off the day with delicious homemade cakes and freshly prepared food in The Bumblebee Café.

Own a Pony for the day at Lee Valley Riding Centre
Let the kids horse around this Easter with an ‘Own a Pony Day’ at Lee Valley Riding Centre.
During this four hour activity, children will be allocated their very own pony to care for – from grooming and handling to learning how to fit saddles and bridles.
Once the horses are groomed and ready, they can jump in the saddle and enjoy a half an hour ride around the centre.

Bushcraft Taster Sessions at Lee Valley Almost Wild Campsite
Take a walk on the wild side at Lee Valley Almost Wild Campsite this Easter. The camp will be running brand new one hour taster sessions, teaching both modern and ancient techniques of fire lighting.
Each session will be packed with remarkable fire lighting methods using various tools, from a stone and flint to a lighter and even a mobile phone.

Lee Valley FootGolf Open
Edmonton’s Lee Valley Golf Course is to host its very first Lee Valley FootGolf Open this spring over the Easter weekend (Sunday 1 April) inviting players of all ages and levels to compete as teams and aim to take home the FootGolf Open trophy.
Just like regular golfers, participants aim the ball into a hole – but they are using their feet, not a club.
Open to all, the event encourages beginners and seasoned players alike to rally round their friends and family to compete as a team, or sign up to the competition as an individual and join the action with other players. Participants can choose to compete in either an Adult and under 18s category.

Wild Wednesdays – ‘Whodunnit?’ Family Orienteering Competition
The bird box at Waltham Abbey Gardens has been raided, and families will have to turn detective to find the culprit in this ‘Whodunnit’ orienteering competition. To aid with the search, rangers will hold orienteering classes to equip families with the right tools to win for their respective teams.
All participants will receive a certificate and there are prizes for the winning team.

Learn to skate at Lee Valley Ice Centre
This introductory course to ice skating is a fun and active way to spend the holidays. This Skate UK program covers Level 1 and elements of Level 2 skating with qualified NISA instructors and provides a safe and fun way for adults and juniors to learn the basics of skating together.
The five day course includes; half hour group lessons, free skate hire, pass certificate and free entry onto the 12:00 – 14:00 public session.

Star Track at Lee Valley Athletics Centre
This athletics course is ideal for budding young athletes. Aimed at children between 6-12 years old, these camps are not only a great introduction to sports such as the long jump, pole vault and 100m sprint, but are a way to keep the kids active and healthy this holiday.
Run over a series of days, the camps are held at the elite Lee Valley Athletics Centre where British gold medalists such as Greg Rutherford and Jonnie Peacock have trained.

A Discovery of Fire at Lee Valley Almost Wild Campsite
Round off the Easter weekend ‘Bear Grylls’ style with a fire lighting course at Lee Valley Almost Wild Campsite.
Perfect for outdoor enthusiasts, this intense but fun course led by specialist instructors will teach visitors how to harness fire for survival and bush craft. From searching and preparing a safe fire site, to carefully selecting the best tinder materials from natural and man-made sources, this course covers all the ‘need to know’ techniques to survive in the wild.
The specialists will also demonstrate the different methods available to light a fire -slowly moving back in time from using mobiles phones and a digital camera to using more primitive methods like a traditional flint and steel.
