Geoff Crampton TAKES ON A SPORTING CHALLENGE FOR BRAINWAVE

04 Aug Geoff Crampton TAKES ON A SPORTING CHALLENGE FOR BRAINWAVE

intu Lakeside’s Guest Services Manager, Geoff Crampton, has pledged to take on a grueling challenge of two triathlons to raise money for the centre’s 2016 charity, Brainwave. Geoff completed his first triathlon of the year, the Fambridge Yacht Haven Half Iron Triathlon, on Sunday 17 July and is set to take on the The AJ Bell London Triathlon on Sunday 7 August.

Geoff will be pushing himself to the limits to raise as much money for the children’s charity as possible. After completing his first triathlon in 2015 Geoff decided to challenge himself by committing to two triathlons during 2016. He has so far raised £500 towards the £25,000 that intu Lakeside has pledged to raise for Brainwave this year.

Geoff has worked at intu Lakeside for over 11 years and started out as the Store Manager at Woolworths before moving on to work for the centre itself. Within his role, Geoff ensures that customers at intu Lakeside always receive fantastic service and that everything runs smoothly within a variety of areas including security, customer services and environmental services.

Geoff comments: “I will be pushing myself to the limit this year by partaking in two triathlons in the space of four weeks. Brainwave is an extremely deserving charity and changes the lives of many young children. I hope that by showing this commitment I will inspire other people to get on board with fundraising for the charity.”

Brainwave helps to change the lives of children with disabilities and additional needs by offering personalised and unique education and physical therapies. intu Lakeside has sponsored seven children who will receive therapies to improve mobility, communication skills and learning potential which will change their, and their families, lives forever.

Gerry Gould, Community Manager at Brainwave, says: “The challenge that Geoff has taken on is admirable and we are extremely thankful for this. intu Lakeside’s pledge to raise £25,000 is amazing and will make a tremendous difference to these local children’s lives.”
