Families are invited to begin their festive adventure at Lakeside Shopping Centre this Christmas, as the centre unveils The Santa Express – an immersive train journey to meet Santa himself – the likes Lakeside has never seen before.
Running from Friday 27th November to Thursday 24th December, little ones will arrive at Jingle Bell Junction, located by the central atrium, with their tickets ready to be checked before climbing aboard an authentic train carriage as Very Important Passengers.
The magical journey will take families through snow-capped hills and sparkling crystal caverns, with interactive windows, surround sound and motion effects bringing the adventure to life. After travelling through the wintry scenes, visitors will arrive at Candy Cane Lane, where children can decorate a delicious gingerbread biscuit before continuing on to Santa’s cosy cabin.
There, families will have the chance to share their Christmas wishes with the Big Man himself, take a keepsake photograph and receive an early Christmas gift to take home.
With tickets starting from £6 for adults and £18 for children*, Lakeside Shopping Centre’s magical grotto experience is perfect to combine with a full day out at the centre – where you can enjoy incredible shopping from your favourite brands and delicious dining experiences.
Nancy Foster, Centre Director at Lakeside Shopping Centre, commented: “Christmas is all about creating those special moments together, and The Santa Express will give families a truly magical way to begin the countdown. From climbing aboard the train at Jingle Bell Junction to decorating gingerbread and meeting Santa in his cosy cabin, every part of the experience has been designed to make a visit to Lakeside one to remember. Watch this space for more exciting Christmas announcements from Lakeside coming soon!”
The Santa Express will be open on selected dates and times from 27th November until Christmas Eve. Tickets are now on sale and families are encouraged to book early to secure their preferred time slot. For tickets, opening times and further information, visit lakeside-shopping.com/thesantaexpress.
